We love our residents at Compassion House, when you are accepted into this program you are accepted into a FAMILY. There are rules to make the best experience for all residents and staff. You'll find the rules to be straightforward.

We want you to know what to expect when living at Compassion House as well as what is expected of you.
Rules are implemented to provide a guideline for solid sobriety and a safe living environment. Do not ask us to bend the rules.
HOUSE LEADERS: There are house leaders living in each house to help maintain order, and make sure that everything is running as it should. House leaders have been chosen by Pastor Isaac and should be treated with the same amount of respect.
 • In addition to fostering a positive living environment within the house, we remind our residents to be good neighbors. Residents of Compassion House should be quiet, clean and courteous in the neighborhood.
• It is never necessary to discuss the specific nature of your residency with anyone outside of the house. You are simply a resident of a rental property.
• Accountability: Required for residents are weekly House Meetings, weekly/random drug testing, documentation of following a 12 Step Program (Living Free) completion of Outpatient Program or court ordered classes, attending House Events, and following all house rules.
Your first two weeks at The Compassion House can be hard emotionally. During this time you will spend most of your time with Pastor Isaac, Aundria, or other trusted house leader. so that we can get to know you, your situation, and find out what your specific needs are. After about 2 weeks when we feel you are ready to re-enter the workforce, we will help you find a job that is suitable for your recovery.

DISCIPLINE/EVICTION: Discipline Policies

“All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful, yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.” Hebrews 12:11

“Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Thy Word.” Psalms 119:67

The ministries approach to discipline is one of training with the purpose of restoration. Residents may not receive the exact consequence as another resident; each resident is treated as an individual and is disciplined according to what is in their best interest. We are not, however, merely disciplining a behavior. Our primary goal is to train hearts and to build character and to renew our thinking with the help of the Holy Spirit's power at work in us and through us. The purpose of discipline is:

  1. To correct improper attitudes and behaviors.

  2. To help teach that there are consequences for bad behavior.

  3. To instill respect for authority, others, and self.

  4. To nurture and develop desirable character qualities while eliminating bad attitudes and harmful actions.

  5. To enable the resident to develop a Christ like response to discipline.

  6. To allow residents to share in the holiness of God and to produce a harvest of peace, joy, and happiness.

  7. Disciplinary measures may include, but are not limited to the following:

  8. Loss of day passes, visits and/or leave privileges.

  9. Loss of phone privileges. • Scripture writing. • Anger management or assigned counseling.

  10. Extra time added to length of program.

Program Restarts When a rule has been broken and discipline is required, the first offense will result in a VERBAL warning. The second offense will result in a WRITTEN warning. If a resident is found to be continually violating the rules and expectations, they will be discharged from the program.

Upon eviction, the resident found in violation will be given 60 minutes to arrange for a ride and to pack all belongings. Leaving on foot is not allowed. No partial refunds of rent will be given. The individual’s emergency contact will also be contacted. After 60 minutes the resident being evicted will not be allowed on the property for any reason.

If personal belongings are left behind, 30 days will be given to arrange for pick-up of these belongings, or they will be donated.

We are here to provide extra structure and support in the beginning phases of your recovery and to help you succeed.

Everything we do is for YOU!

NOTE:   All Policies are subject to change according to the circumstances, time, place, and attitude of the resident. This will be at the discretion of Pastor Isaac. If you have questions pertainng to any of the rules and procedures, please contact House Management for clarification.
